 MAJOR CHARITY FOOD APPEAL LAUNCHED

The first ever NRG Food Energy Appeal launched today (Tuesday, 27th Nov) with the aim of helping three Cork charities in the run up to Christmas.

Organisers are appealing for help from the people of Cork to fill a container with food for: Penny Dinners, Feed Cork and the Chocolate Box Appeal.

They are asking people to bring non perishable goods and chocolates to various drop-off points around Cork over the coming weeks.

Sea Box Energy’s Christmas Charity campaign, NRG Food Appeal, was launched by the Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr Mick Finn and businesswoman and social media star, Lisa Jordan yesterday.

CEO of NRG Awareness, Patrick Hogan said: “We are delighted to launch our Christmas Charity campaign and we are calling on people all around Cork to get involved. We are aiming to support three amazing Cork charities with this appeal and a little help will go a long way this Christmas.”

Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr Mick Finn said: “Cork people are known for their generosity and for looking after their own so I have no doubt that calls to support the NRG Food Energy Appeal will be taken up as Christmas approaches. Three great Cork charities – Penny Dinners, Feed Cork and the Chocolate Box Appeal – will benefit from this initiative, with organisers looking for your assistance in helping those less well off in our city by donating non-perishable goods and chocolates for distribution. I wish all those involved well in this great cause.”

The drop off location points are:
  • NRG Office, Little Island Industrial Estate, Little Island
  • Red FM, University Technology Centre, Curraheen Estate, Curraheen Road, Bishopstown, Cork
  • Billy Mackesy’s Douglas Village Foods, Douglas, Cork
  • The Squad, Unit 2 John Harrington Ind Est., Tramore Road
