Jigsaw Cork celebrated its first anniversary
On Friday, July 6th, Jigsaw Cork celebrated its first anniversary with an event in Cork City Council Chamber. The event, hosted by newly incumbent Lord Mayor, Cllr.Mick Finn, was also attended by County Mayor Cllr. Patrick Gerard Murphy, who also spoke about the importance of the Jigsaw Cork service. MC for the day, Ciara McNamara – a member of the Youth Advisory Panel – opened proceedings by thanking young people, parents and professionals for trusting Jigsaw Cork to support young people and for playing a pivotal role in establishing the service. The event was attended by Youth Advisory Panel members, their families, partner agencies from the statutory and community and voluntary sectors and the growing band of supporters of the service.? The focus of the event was on sharing the story of Jigsaw Cork so far, and to announce the extension of the service to young people across county Cork. Making the announcement, Catherine Morley - Project Manager and Catherine White – Clinical Coordinator, welcomed the extension of the service and invited parents, agencies and professionals throughout county Cork to commence the process of referring young people to the service. In addition to this, she also committed the service to the provision of Outreach Services in the county by early 2019, asserting that a process of planning and development for this was now underway.
