Up to 500 Irish and International emergency medical personnel to visit Cork City over 3 day Emergency Medical Services Gathering 2018
The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Gathering is taking place in Cork from the 11th to the 13th September 2018.
The EMS Gathering is a showcase event where Emergency Service personnel from across the statutory and voluntary bodies together with their partners in Cork City and County Council, Gardaí and Defence Forces, Coastguard, Customs Service and the Naval Service come together to share knowledge and experiences .
Organiser and Cork Paramedic, Kieran Henry said “The EMS gathering is a great way of everyone working in the Emergency Services to come together and learn from each other in a novel and entertaining way. We will be going on bus tours and walking tours but we will be learning about things like sepsis and mental health while visiting the city sights.
While many of the events will be taking place around the city and county, the EMS Gathering will be based in the in the Victorian Quarter, Cork with the hub venues at The Metropole Hotel and Everyman Theatre, McCurtain Street. It is expected that up to 500 Irish and International emergency medical personnel will visit the City over the 3 day event.
The gathering is very popular with our overseas colleagues and we have delegates from Canada, North America, China, Australia, New Zealand and the UK coming to join us and share their experience with us over the three days and we are especially looking forward to showing all our delegates why Cork was recently voted Condé Nast Travellers 2018 3rd friendliest city in the world.
