The Hazelton Clinic welcomes Drama Therapist Alexandra Tyndale to the team!

Having obtained a degree in Psychology in London, Alexandra worked as a support worker in mental health projects and gained a certificate in Counselling skills before completing her MA in Drama and movement therapy. She has worked with many client groups including the elderly, refugees and asylum seekers, children in hospital, adults in mental health and children with special needs. She has worked in Family Support centers with children on a one to one basis. She has experience working with children who have been affected by:
Bereavement, School transition, Low self-esteem, Anger issues, Challenging or worrying behaviors, History of domestic violence at home, Special needs, Bullying or being bullied, Family break up,  Severe and Terminal illnesses

Drama therapy is especially effective and widely used in the treatment of children, where the element of play helps children gain mastery over their anxieties and conflicts and explore difficult feelings and events.  Drama therapy can offer an alternative to talking therapies and allows participants to express themselves non-verbally or through ‘play’ and ‘pretend.’ By creating distance from real-life experiences, events, circumstances, roles, patterns, and actions, participants have the opportunity to act in new ways, experiment with alternatives, and gain new insights.

Appointments with Aly commence on Monday 3rd of December.  For more information or to book a place call 021-4936006 9am-9pm 7 days. #talkinghelps www.hazelton.ie
