Providing insight as the ink dries on the Chamber’s most recent Quarterly Economic Survey today, Conor Healy, CEO Cork Chamber said;
“There is no doubt about the need to market and represent Cork at the highest level. Our latest Quarterly Economic Survey to business members resoundingly supports the need to grow international awareness of Cork, highlighting this as one of our top priorities. When listing challenges in attracting skills and talent to Cork the issue of international marketing is second only to the need for more housing.”
Mr. Healy added, “We are set to be the fastest growing region in Ireland over the next 20 years. We need to be proactive to drive this this growth and future opportunity for the entire region. In an increasingly competitive international environment the ‘do nothing’ approach is not an option for any ambitious city region. We need to tell our story of energy, ambition, determination and enterprise and We Are Cork is an integral part of that storytelling.”
In concluding, Mr Healy added, “Our members are positive about Cork with business confidence at 96%. When asked what Cork Chamber could be doing to attract talent to the region, the overwhelming number one response was the increased international promotion of Cork.”
