THE FUTURE OF WORK IN CORK– INTRODUCING YOUR NEW WORKPLACE ASSISTANT!

-National Business Machines Announces Free Cork Event-

Technology is consistently transforming the experience of how people work and one Irish company in particular is determined to take advantage of this rapidly changing world. In an effort to fuel expansion and offer greater service for new and existing customers, National Business Machines (NBM) is hosting a customer information day in Cork. The NBM ‘Future of Work’ event, which is taking place on Tuesday 14th November from 10am to 5pm in Paírc Uí Chaoimh, will showcase the latest range and technology of Xerox machines and the countless advantages this new printer technology will bring to the workplace.

Founded in 1985 NBM was originally based in South Mall, Cork, moving to Ballycurreen as space was required. One of the first Xerox Concessionaires to set up in Europe, they are proud to have grown to become the largest Irish Concessionaire. The partnership between Xerox and NBM has grown and developed over the past 32 years and has resulted in the delivery of a strong value proposition for their customers. Specialists in Managed Print, their hardware range extends from small desktop printers and MFP's to large production print equipment. Their software range encompasses the new Xerox App Store as well as popular software solutions that maximise the productivity of the overall solution.

The NBM ‘Future of Work Forum’, which is free to attend for new and existing NBM customers, will include presentations by NBM experts, live demonstrations and networking opportunities. This upcoming event will present a unique opportunity for individuals and professionals to connect with each other and to learn about new world-class technologies.

The featured technologies at this event are from the newly launched Xerox ConnectKey portfolio of 29 new Xerox AltaLink and Xerox VersaLink multifunction devices and their associated ConnectKey apps, which can improve workplace productivity by automating everyday office tasks. Included in the more than 40 apps available on Xerox’s App Gallery are the Scan to Dropbox, Office 365, Google drive direct from the device. There are translation services, Follow me Printing, Xerox Healthcare MFP Solution, which allows for the secure sharing of patient information in healthcare settings. Xerox printers are giving people the freedom to solve problems, be more sustainable, productive and take on new challenges.

“It feels like only yesterday that the traditional printer was an impressive feat of engineering, but we are now entering into a new digital age and must adapt products to our growing consumer base” said Michael Galvin, Managing Director of NBM. “These apps turn multifunction printers into true workplace assistants. We can use the technology to develop customized apps that address the specific tasks that our customers want to automate. This really is the future of work!”

“The enthusiasm of our staff for this event is overwhelming. It is a wonderful opportunity for us to showcase our continuous hard work and appreciation for our customers. It is our hope that this event will attract all kinds of customers, from large corporate clients and small to medium-sized businesses. I highly encourage anyone and everyone to attend” said Mr. Galvin.

This event involves immense preparation and planning, but promises a glimpse into the future of digital work to see how you can drive change by transforming the way you do business. The future is a connected, virtual, mobile, digital and physical world. Be ready for it.
